Jesse Daniel McCrae

Jesse Daniel McCrae, 89, of Rhineland, MO, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Riverview Nursing Center, Mokane, Missouri

Jesse was born in Orrstown, Pennsylvania on May 9, 1934, the son of the late Jesse George & Lydia Elizabeth (Myer) McCrae.

He was the husband of Karen (Rector) McCrae.  They were united in marriage on June 25, 1994, in Florissant, Missouri. Together they shared almost 30 years of marriage.

Jesse served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of Hermann United Methodist Church, in Hermann, the Local 36, and the Hermann Eagles. 

He was a union sheet metal worker.  In his free time he loved fishing, playing cards, watching the birds and was an avid golfer.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Karen McCrae, of Rhineland, Missouri; two daughters, Darlis Mayes and Renita McCrae, both of Jupiter, Florida; two sisters, Patsy Piper, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; and Linda Loy & husband Paul, of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; two sisters-in-law, Teresita McCrae, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and Shirley Crenshaw of Collinsville, Illinois; by a granddaughter, Brittany Mayes, two step grandchildren, Dani Bothe and CJ Bothe & wife Sheridan; two step great grandchildren, Adalynne & Charlotte; and three nephews, Gary Piper & wife Rose, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, John McCrae Jr. & wife Kathy, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Bradley Sommerville & wife Lori, of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John McCrae, a step son, Jason Bothe; two brothers-in-law, Lee Piper and Floyd Crenshaw and a niece, Carol Hoyt Williams.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where a memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
